In past years there was rarely that much ads on social platforms until just recently. Around two years ago is when they started to incorporate their stuff into platforms like snapchat and Instagram. And the reason its gorilla advertising is because it just pops up. You could be tapping through snapchat stories and seeing what your friends are up to until your faced with multiple game ads saying "50% of people cant get past level 1." The same thing happens on Instagram you can be scrolling through your feed and an ad disguised as a post will be there. The other platform of media ads are found on is Spotify. Its one of the most popular music apps and the advisors know that. That's why they now bombard you with their product promotion in between songs. Another more original form of gorilla advertising would be times square in New York. The ads here are all over. Each and every one pushing their product and its everywhere you look. From bill boards to light up ads and ones displayed on buildings.
For most of my life I always remembered ads being there, that's just how it works. One company makes a profit off another one trying to make a profit. But now each company is being more innovative of how they put their ads out there. There always will be the gorilla ad in places like times square but now its being incorporated into more social media. And this technique really seems to be apparent in todays media.
