A Shame or Necessity

This past weekend on November 25th an awful occurrence happened leaving families in literal tears. There was tear gas fired at families trying to cross the US-Mexico boarder. But each article I had read definitely shared different viewings and contradicted one another through their use of language. For starters star telegram saw it as a necessary action that needed to be taken that we can see from just the title being, "It was appropriate for Border Patrol to use tear gas on migrants". Where as for harpers bazar news who believed these actions should not have been committed and there are better ways to handle this. This article was called, "If You're Defending Tear Gassing Children, You're a Horrible Person". Just from the titles of these two we can see that each stand for a different thing and according to George Orwell  this would appear to him as just another decline of language. This story being told was on the same topic but reported on with different words.

In https://www.harpersbazaar.com/culture/politics/a25326083/response-tear-gassing-children-caravan-migrants-mexico-border/ it shares the story of how the tear gas was used on "tough people." But the author then shared how,"women in Frozen T-shirts and children in diapers," sure don't live up to this reference. In Wrights article she continues onto how tear gas is such a dangerous weapon and not a harmless as trump tried to play it to be. Wright then mentions the lives of these people and how tye are just trying to create a better life for themselves. Like about Amelia Frank-Vitale and how she lives a rough life in Honduras where people are constantly being murdered and a young boy has already reported to seing 9 himself. In this whole article there was much use of pathos which had tried to change the readers mind and to feel sympathy to those who were effected.

But then in the article https://www.star-telegram.com/opinion/letters-to-the-editor/article222462585.html we see how the author thinks this act was harsh but definitely necessary. They go on to write about the previous warnings trump had sent and how this was mainly their own faults. In this article it also discusses that not all of these people were seeking asylum for themselves and family where all others are people with criminal pasts or a warrant placed out for them. So this author tries to persuade us into thinking it was the migrants fault for constantly pressuring to boarder.
